Saratoga Trunk pg 13
The Saratoga Trunk
I came across a old Saratoga trunk about 40 years ago. I was painted ugly white and blue but had good bones. We stored ice hockey gear in it for many years. When we decided that the ice hockey day's were over I thought I would restore the turnk. What a job.... I removed the tin. paint, leather, hinges, corners, and about 300 nails. I saved the wood structure and started over with new leather and tin. I used the old corners and hinges. I replaced 300 nails with new cut nails and wall papered the inside. After setting in my garage for over a year I finally finished the trunk and gave it to my daughter.
